MIGRATION TO S/4HANA; the easiest way to increase your potential.

Smart companies migrate to S/4HANA. Are you ready to be part of the future?

In this podcast, Rodrigo Hernández Zavala, Director of Operations, and Alfredo Muerza Fherez, SAP Sr. FI Consultant, will talk to the audience about the benefits of migrating the S/4HANA platform. Throughout the program, you will understand the importance of taking this step and why it is necessary, rather than recommended, to make this major change in your company.

Why migrate to S/4HANA?

SAP S/4HANA is SAP’s new intelligent business core, but it is not an upgrade of a version of SAP ECC, it is a completely different scope, focused on having a better performance in the processes to provide a better user experience. This platform has state-of-the-art technologies, such as artificial intelligence (AI), as well as cloud solutions for S/4HANA and the suites that connect to it.

Completely improved on a new technology with a new database that is currently being used in SAP implementations, this product comes to meet expectations. There is a whole universe of companies running SAP ECC 6.0 that have not yet considered or prioritized a move to S/4HANA.

The question is: Do you know the risk of not migrating your business to S/4HANA? Here are some of them:

  1. Loss of competitiveness: Today, having intelligent processes is essential to increase the speed of decision-making. It is a fact that time runs differently now, and those companies that only have SAP as a work tool to improve their business processes are at risk. S/4HANA offers this solution for ECC.
  2. By 2027 SAP will stop supporting ECC; it will be very expensive to support ECC with an outdated application.
  3. Investing in upgrades or implementations of the current ECC suite is an expense, not an investment. It is a product that is being discontinued, so it is not worth continuing to invest in it.
  4. SAP customers pay annual maintenance for the right to use the product, but the origin of the maintenance is to constantly improve the product, which is automatically achieved by getting S/4HANA.

By converting your platforms and migrating them to S/4HANA you will be part of the future, because in the year 2027 support will no longer exist in the ECC suite.

How to start the migration process to S/4HANA?

“There are two ways to successfully migrate from ECC to S/4HANA:

  1. Brownfield (reuse, convert): It is nothing more than migrating to S/4HANA without changing business processes and using the same data. In this way, the tool is not fully used.
  2. Greenfield (redesign, reimplement): Re-implementation, which will generate new processes offered by the tool and eliminate defects that the organization may have. In addition, intelligent business processes are carried out so that the company can grow solidly; this is what SAP wants for its customers.” Alfredo Muerza Fherez, SAP Consultant Sr. FI at SYAAT.

SAP offers EWA, Pathfinder, and Redinesscheck reports for the SAP partner to execute and interpret the status of the current functionality. This information allows you to determine which tasks are ready for possible conversion. The reports imply a series of technical prerequisites that will help you to know precisely what you need and how your current system is running.

A very relevant aspect to carry out the migration process is that key users, or those in charge of the operation support, have training in the tool, that they know how the processes work in S/4HANA so that they can make good decisions during the conversion or reimplementation. By knowing these processes, it is easy to recognize when users have errors in use and thus improve with the new SAP technology.

At SYAAT, we have an expert and well-prepared team with extensive knowledge of both the technical and functional aspects of the platform to help companies prepare for migration or redeployment. This assessment, or interpretation, can be started without waiting for a large project to begin or having a large budget. It is definitely possible to start earlier and gain time while spreading the budget over a larger number of years.

A solution for S/4HANA infrastructure

S/4HANA is a very service-oriented cloud because its new technology consumes many more resources in terms of memory, space, disks, processing, etc. We know that the core of a business is not to have equipment in its facilities, this is the reason why at SYAAT we have the private cloud service, SYCLOUD, thanks to which companies can stop investing in hardware and successfully migrate to the cloud. This way, the costs of migrating from an ECC to S/4HANA are greatly minimized, avoiding infrastructure, resource support team, and operation investment, which this new technology requires.

“SYAAT is the provider of SYCLOUD; it has the highest standards of operation, security, and stability of its equipment, the best SAP service thanks to its expertise, acquired over the years, and its RUN SAP certification. At SYAAT we are prepared and have enough capacity to support the services of this new technology, which will minimize a problem for companies since their information will be completely safe, in addition to avoiding large investments in hardware that are not necessary today.

Our data center is in Data Foundry, in Houston, Texas. It has the certificates and security levels of the highest level to maintain and support the information of each of our clients. It provides the base module Managed Services, which includes basis, backup, administration, and monitoring, among others, so you can rest knowing that your information is in good hands”. Rodrigo Hernández Zavala, Director of Operations at SYAAT.

What is SAP’s vision for its customers in the coming years?

Since its inception, SAP’s strategy has been to help every business run like an intelligent business so that organizations of all sizes and in all industries can operate optimally to compete in the marketplace.

The future is today, which is why it is so important to drive the simplification of processes and the use of technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI), the Internet of Things, and data analytics in the cloud. This is how SAP is helping companies become smart.

Technology doesn’t waste time, it moves very fast and doesn’t look back; what used to be done in years, today is done in just a few days.

SAP is not only focused on supporting business processes, but also on providing deep business and technology knowledge. This makes people more competitive in a job market that demands perfection and innovation.

Migrating to S/4HANA is a must in these times. Doing so is synonymous with trend, but more importantly, wisdom.
