As happens with large companies, the starting point to begin the cloud migration was to solve the strategic part, in order to delegate the administration of its data center to a specialized partner. “A challenge that was presented to us was the response times (latency) for the databases, but SYAAT helped us make the proper adjustment for better performance. Another example is the migration to SAP; for this, we chose SYAAT, which worked together with the cloud from Google and our expert in our data center infrastructure. The migration was heterogeneous, since we changed the operating system from Unix HP-UX to Linux SLES, we updated the DB2 database and some SAP base components,” Eduardo de la Rosa Manager of Architecture, Acquisitions and Administration of Grupo AKRON.
There is no doubt that the cloud migration has softened the concerns of AKRON group with reference to its infrastructure, such as UPS, A/C, power plant and physical security. This has allowed them to focus on the strategic part of their business, which is what deserves their full attention and action. On the other hand, having all their information integrated into a single platform has given them the ability to exploit it more effectively.
